Assessed by a combination of in-course assessments (approx 30%) and end-of-year exams (approx 70%). Diploma award is graded, students are awarded a Pass, Commendation or Distinction.


UK: Undergraduate degree (2:2 or above). Applicants should ensure that their referee provides a full reference in support of their application. Course only open to those holding qualifications approved by the SRA or BSB under the regulations in force from time to time. Anyone with non-standard qualifications may need to obtain a CAS from either BSB or SRA before they enrol on the GDL. International: accept qualifications from schools, colleges and universities all over the world for entry onto postgraduate degrees. Non-native English speakers - need an IELTS test or alternative English language test.

However, all applications are considered on their mertis and consider applicants who do not have or may not be predicted to have an upper second class honours degree who can demonstrate a commitment to pursuing a career in the legal profession and who have other strengths or evidence of achievement such as awards, scholarships and work experience.
