Anna Williams (Editor)

Anna read Human Sciences at St Anne’s College, Oxford and practised commercial property and social housing law at a top West End firm for eight years. She has edited the past eight editions of the Student Guide.

 

Rich Simmons (Deputy Editor)

Rich graduated with an MA in Medieval History from the University of Durham. Before joining Chambers he worked for a private bank and the publisher of a university guide. 

 

Katharine Critchlow, Researcher

Graduated from Yale University with a BA in English Literature. Previously worked as a reporter/researcher for US-based publications and subsequently in the editorial department of a US book publisher. Katharine is a native New Yorker.

 

Kira Gilmore, Researcher

Graduated with a BA in Journalism from San Diego State University. Previously worked for a US television broadcasting organization in San Diego and London, as well as for a multimedia PR company in New York. Kira is from California and speaks Spanish.

 

Leila Lemghalef, Researcher

Leila graduated from the London School of Economics (MSc Politics and Communication) in 2009, and from Concordia University (BA Specialization Journalism) in 2006. She has worked as a journalist both in the English and French media in Montreal.

 

Sam Morris, Researcher

Graduated from the University of Leiden, The Netherlands with a first in Political Science in 2008 and from the London School of Economics with an MSc in Comparative Politics in 2009. Has worked for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Speaks fluent Dutch and English.

 

William Martin, Researcher

Graduated from the University of Nottingham with a First in Politics in 2006. Studied for the GDL and BVC (now BPTC) at the College of Law, London. Has previously worked in research roles in parliament and a political consultancy. Due to begin his pupillage at 9-12 Bell Yard in September 2010.

 

Amie McFadzean, Researcher

Graduated with an LLB in English Law and French Law from the University of Manchester in 2008. During her studies, she spent a year at the Université de Bourgogne in Dijon, France. Last year she completed the LPC at the College of Law in London, and is due to begin her training contract at a City firm in September 2010.

 

Kathryn Bromwich, Researcher

Graduated with distinction from UCL with an MA in English: Issues in Modern Culture in 2009, and with a First in English Literature from the University of York in 2008. Kathryn grew up in Italy, Vienna and England, and has previously worked in publishing.

 

Emily Lauffer, Researcher

Graduated from McGill University with a BA in Political Science and American History. Joined Chambers in 2007 as a researcher for Chambers USA. Emily previously worked as a legal research consultant, researching and writing for the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Report 2007, and interned in the marketing department of a prestigious London law firm. She grew up in Vermont and speaks German, French and Spanish.

 

Alex Hocking, Researcher

Now in his second stint with the Student Guide, Alex graduated from University College London with an honours degree in Ancient History and Social Anthropology. Previously worked in documentary film making. Alex is from Manchester. 

 

Alexis Gibbs, Researcher

Graduated from Oxford with a degree in English and Portuguese in 2007, then with an MA in European Studies in 2009, having taught in France for a year in between. Previous employment has included working with refugee academics and in the EU's Fundamental Rights Agency.
